Basterdizing the English Language

On the radio this morning a man was being interviewed about a memorial being erected to Martin Luther King. The interviewee proceeded to mention all the "heroes and sheroes". I know that language is fluid but come on! I have never heard anyone complain about the word "hero." There is nothing wrong with the word hero - only something wrong with a person who is so afraid of offending some unknown person that he would make up his own language.

Molly the Watch Dog

Chet is out of town and left Molly in charge of homeland security. I think she needs further training. The electric went off sometime Saturday night. When our answering machine kicks on, a voice tells you to set the time and date. Around three in the morning I heard the voice, the electric click off, and the voice again in quick succesion. You would think that Molly would check out the strange voice - but no - she jumped up in bed with me shaking like a leaf! I guess it's my job to protect her!

Think Summer Theater!

It may be hard to imagine summer with the wind howling outside, but I just sent in my subscription for Porthouse. Looks to be a good season - I can hardly wait!
