Snapping Turtle
Chet found this little lady laying eggs in the garden. Though cute when little, we don't really want to be growing this variety. Last year, Sassy got too close to one larger than this and got a nice cut on her nose for it. She has learned to keep a wide berth. So Patrick - if you come across one, be sure to check with Mom or Dad before picking him up!

This is my favorite photo of Chet and his buddy Mike. It has been hanging on my refrigerator for years (even through the move), so is a little dirty. Mike was also David's boss through High School and College. The kids had all gathered at the farm before a dance to get their photos taken. Mike and Chet decided they needed to have theirs taken, too. Make a cute couple don't they!

The Real World
David had to come home this weekend to pick up a suit he ordered and said two really telling comments. The first was on Saturday morning around 10 when he said "Boy, it was really nice to sleep in this morning" and the second was as we were watching TV together he said "You know, it really sucks having to come home from work to make dinner. I can't imagine having to fix it for 4 people!" So, even though it may not seem like it now - someday they will appreciate you!

Tour my neighborhood
Like Jim, I have been off this week so I can help David move and shop for clothes. We are going back out today to look for suits. But, I have managed to do some of the things I enjoy most, one of which is walking my dogs. Here are some photos of my neighbors and neighborhood as you go north out my driveway. Note about the little church - St. Peter of the Fields - it was established by a group of German immigrants who wanted to be able to hear the mass in German. It's concregation outgrew it a while ago. Part of them wanted to tear this lovely church down and build a new one on the same spot. Another part of the church wanted to leave it alone and build in a totally new place. This went on for awhile with the pastor coming down on the side of the first group. Last year the pastor was reassigned and guess what - the new administrator was able to find a compromise. This church is staying as is and they are building the new one around the existing church hall. Strange as it seems - I drive by this church every Sunday on my way to mass in Kent - someday I may decide to change. In the one photo that just looks like brush, if you look carefully you can see the horses ears peeking up. As I stopped to take their photo, they turned to check me out. I wanted to get closer photos of the calves - but I went out at the wrong time of day and they were too far away.

A New Beginning
This is David's new apartment in Wooster. He said it is about 5 mins from his job at Rae & Associates, which he starts next week. We set up his new bed then spent a good part of the day buying work clothes - not what David is used to being work clothes. Carl has applied for jobs in Scottsdale AZ (for the city of)- he'd be close to Mike & Angie as well as cousins on the other side - and a job with the Navy in Norfolk VA. He's stilll looking for other opportunities as well.
