There was a discussion on the radio about people who have affected our lives, which got me to thinking . Whether a chance encounter or part of my life, many have formed the way I see the world. I decided to write about a few of those people. It seems appropriate, sandwiched as we are between Mother's and Father's Day, to start with those who started me.

Those are great stories - thanks for sharing.
I still miss her also. I cannot tell you how many things she taught me. One I remember is the story about having 2 loaves and selling one to buy hyasins (the flower that I cannot spell) for for the soul. It was at a time when we had nothing and had to watch every penny. She was telling me it was still Ok to have fun and spend something on myself. I think of that each time I wonder if I should buy something whimsical just for the fun of having it. Mike will tell you I learned that very well. Mom was so fun, I miss her humor most of all. And you are so correct about her courage. I hope I have learned that lesson also.
