Happy Anniversary
It would be Mom and Dad's 62nd anniversary on Sunday the 2nd. This is their wedding photo - I love the cat in the background! Can you imagine agreeing to marry someone with whom you have been exchanging letters and pictures, but haven't met face to face?

Dial Up Service
It's ingrained in Moms - say or do something about one kid, and you have to be fair and do it for the other. David was always alot quieter than Carl - but he, too, could come up with a gem or two. When preparing him for 1st communion, we had a chapter on prayer. Of course, we went over how you make the sign of the cross. I can't remember the exact words now, but David knew what that was - it was how you dialed up God!
Kid Say the Darndest Things
I have really enjoyed reading the posts that Angie and Missy have been putting up about the things the kids have been saying. It has made me think back to some of the things my kids used to say. When Carl was just a toddler, he had his very own tool box. I am not talking toys, but real tools that were leftovers from Dad's box. Although very verbose (he still is), he didn't always get the words quite right. No one to this day knows where he got it, but you can only imagine my embaressment when he would frantically go around looking for his screwdriver saying "Where's my whore, Where'is my whore!"
Mother O and Junk Mail
Just like everyone else, I get alot of junk mail, especially from people wanting me to borrow money. When I get one of those, I carefully open each one up and proceed to rip to shreds any piece that has my name or address on it, before I throw it in the trash. As I do this, I always think of Mom. I can see her doing the exact same thing and lecturing me that there were people out there waiting to cheat me out of my money. Never in my wildest dreams did I think at the time of Mom being ahead of her time. Somehow, I think if we could have put her in charge of privacy issues way back then, there would be a lot less identity theft now.
The Fun Must Continue
To thank us for giving them double the business this year over last, Franklin Mills Title hosted a barbeque at our manager's house. There were flood warnings all night and just when we thought that it was blowing over, it started raining again. But being the brave souls that we are, we just decided to have fun anyway! A great time was had by all who attended (and Pam is going to be thrilled that I posted this picture!)
